The Capability Maturity Model® Integration (CMMI®) consists of
models, an appraisal method, and training courses.
The integration
of disciplines, such as Systems Engineering and Software
Engineering in the CMMI®-SE/SW, helps organizations to meet their
business objectives in an increasingly competitive world.
The CMMI®, by providing a structured set of best practices to
improve organizational processes, helps organizations lower costs,
improve quality, and deliver products and services on time; all of
which contribute to customer satisfaction and drive positive

The CMMI® training program ensures that users, appraisers, and
instructors have the skills and knowledge required to meet CMMI®
standards. SEI-authorized appraisers and instructors, in
particular, must meet rigorous training and observation
requirements before they can provide authorized SEI training and
appraisal services.
